article #1 - the "feature creatures"

have you recently wandered around the Hananezumi HQ, then fortunately landed yourself into a Not Found page, and you wondered yourself why is it creepy at first? well, this article will explain about these so-called "feature creatures."

these things were originated during the BaraOS 2.0 breach, which Maki finally patched it in BaraOS 3.0 (Matcha Milk), and one of them fortunately registered without the administrator's authorization before it was patched quickly. unfortunately, they still lurk around, but they seem to be harmless as none of the registered users were ratted (aka a malicious person accessing someone's computer without authorization), and they only leave some notes and their... vision? their vision is stored at myvision.gif, which shows an animated static image, but they're mostly in monochrome colors and some of them are in colored static.

now, these "feature creatures" have their own faces, which is what you would see in the Not Found page, or the ???'s PC in the BaraOS page. here's a list of "feature creatures" according to Maki's reporting:

feature creature #1 "Kuroshoko"

this is the 1st feature creature that Maki found during the breach. Maki said: "i can't seem to remove this one, even reinstalling the operating system will cause everyone's progress to reset and lose valuable data around the Hananezumi and the Meisei Center... the look on that face is now permanently haunted into my mind, and i might cry on my sleep after i figure this one out..."

it has been reported to be harmless, considering Maki wanted to remove it. that was one of Maki's mistakes; removing what's harmless and haunting herself.

their "myvision.gif" contains a monochrome static.

feature creature #2 "Mirukugawa"

the 2nd feature creature, somewhat harmless, but their "myvision.gif" have caused some people injured or dead and was removed by Maki successfully. Maki said this during the removal: "i still can't think about that first one, like what did i do to stick that into my mind?"

Maki was reported to be traumatized during sleep, as reported by Azume Tametani, where she sleeps at a nearby dormitory with Maki Chikara.

their "myvision.gif" has a glitch effect with some monochrome static drowning into the effect. casualities was only caused by people that are sensitive to seizures, which injured 13 people and killed 5 people upon opening the file.

feature creature #3 "Ame"

the 3rd feature creature, also harmless. unfortunately, Maki didn't got any data from this creature as she went on permanent hiatus as scheduled by Aira Nechi. Some people say that this is the core between the two, but no one dared to touch this one anyways.

As people guarding the creature and some of them tried to remove it using Maki's instructions, they were found missing, and people believed that it was the feature creature that made them disappear. no one knows why, but Maki will get more data once she's back to her sanity.

this creature didn't have a "myvision.gif" file, just their face as shown above.

now, when i talk about the chapter name of this chapter above, i meant it. this was meant to basically scare you if you landed into a Not Found page (and the background is inspired by the infamous Sonic Infinite easter egg), which is why Maki was crying in the Not Found page in the first place. this article was meant for the ???'s PC page on the BaraOS page (if you already went there), just to give out some details why and probably expand the interactive space anyways. let's just hope it doesn't haunt you like Maki did.

original "feature creature #1"

feature creature #1 "Kuroshoko" is actually just a cropped screenshot of Chocola from NEKOPARA Vol. 1, where she would make this terrifying face for some reason. this was the first one that appeared as a "feature creature", then there's those other 2 that are not in the BaraOS page.

here's the original, uncropped screenshot on where it actually originated from. these were originally for the reactive images that i actively use on TikTok today, and there's about 235 reactive images as i'm writing this.

original "feature creature #2"

feature creature #2 "Mirukugawa" is just a cropped screenshot of Vanilla from NEKOPARA Love Project Vol. 1, which is kind of menacing looking at her like that. fun fact, this is on the new (glowy and shiny) design of Vanilla, since this screenshot is from the NEKOPARA Vol. 1 remake, now known as NEKOPARA Love Project.

here's the original screenshot that i took on my phone, since the game was already ported into mobile, just like how the console version was (and the mobile port is the same as the console version)

original "feature creature #3"

feature creature #3 "Ame" has a cropped screenshot of Shigure Minazuki from NEKOPARA Love Project Vol. 1, but this is from the extra NEKOPARA Vol. 0 story bundled into NEKOPARA Love Project Vol. 1. it has the same mood as the first one, though. if you take a look on the edited one in chapter 2, it looks like something you'd see on Lomando, since that website is also full of darkness and it fits to that theme well.
