during the approval of your application, you will get these banner-like images called "calling cards," a somewhat expressive way to show the maturity of your website. these are given randomly, but you can apply for a custom calling card if you want to. hovering on the calling cards will show the name of the calling card, the age group and the maturity type.

majority of the calling cards are based on the character(s) and emotion. for example; 18+ Mature calling cards will only show a specific character noseblushing in embarassment. all of the calling cards are SFW. however, this appearance restriction doesn't apply to custom calling cards submitted by you, since it'll be stupid to add this restriction and it would complicate the custom calling card application. please make sure you only send SFW images rather than NSFW images by accident; 18+ calling cards aren't meant to be lewd in all ways.

"can you tell me about maturity types?"

now, when these calling cards are introduced, they also have a maturity type, depending on what content of the website will show. here's all of the types available:

• undefined: happens when there is no suitable calling cards to assign. rarely happens when there's a lot of calling cards, but it's not gonna happen.
• unrated: the website is not rated or is rated E for everyone (happens when they don't have content warnings, likely on unfinished websites)
• safe: the website is safe to view, with no sexual content involved. this is tied to the "tame" violence rating, so this type combines between 'safe' and 'tame' rating.
• mature: a tied type between "suggestive" and "violent", if the website is focused both on NSFW and violent content.
• violent: the website is focused on violent content that aren't brutal. this could have visible blood or physical harm such as fighting, bruising and non-gory content (eg. no limb cut-offs).
• trauma: the other type for "violent", if the website is focused on traumatic content. the "violent" type might have a higher scale, but this type is only for websites heavily focused on traumatic elements with a small percent of violence where it is not important nor necessary.
• suggest: the website is focused on (mild or semi-heavy) NSFW content, not for the youngun's eyes. it's a short word for "suggestive", since it fits the maximum space of the calling card.

calling cards under this category are custom calling cards submitted by someone or from a member in this webring. personal submissions can only be used by the submitter of the custom calling card, and only works if you're a webring member.
